G'day, eh! Around Melbourne

Welcome to our page highlighting all the nooks and crannies of this beautiful city we are grateful to call our current home.

Albert Park...
Albert Park is filled with gorgeous Victorian homes, cafes, restaurants, pretty little shops, great coffee, parks and beaches. I've been trying to stay inspired during the long days by getting out for walks...

Melbourne Icehouse...
In an effort to make things feel a little more like Christmas, Steve and I organized an ice skating outing and invited a few friends along to join us. We went to the Icehouse, a newly built arena in Melbourne..

Melbourne Night Market...
The Night Market opened tonight at Queen Victoria Market. Soooo much food and stalls selling all sorts of handmade and creative things.

More Melbourne Night Market...
As most of you know, I've been following a gluten, dairy, soy and fructose free diet for awhile now. I modified this recipe to make it dairy free as well as gluten free..

Lysterfield Park....
We've been going to Lysterfield Park, where Steve has done his endurance mountain bike races. It's a beautiful park with well groomed trails and lots of kangaroos! Not just the little guys either, we saw some very big gray roos too!

Melbourne Zoo...
I was shocked at how big it is and how much there was to see! I find zoos can make me sad because it's just heartbreaking to see the animals caged up but I was really impressed with the enclosures for the animals at this zoo.

Bennetts Lane Jazz Club...
On Valentine's Day weekend, Steve and I went to Bennetts Lane Jazz Club for our first ever jazz show. The atmosphere was cozy and intimate.

St. Kilda Fest 2010...
Melbourne has some pretty great festivals. We decided to check out the festival in St. Kilda a couple weekends ago.

Kokoda Track Memorial Walk...
Yesterday, Steve and I headed to the Dandenong Ranges Fern Tree Gully National Park and did their Kokoda Trail, which just so happens to be 100% uphill from the minute you step out of your car.

Lerderderg State Park...
The park was just 60 km outside of the city and was really beautiful. Steve and I both agreed that when you imagine hiking in Australia, this park is what you think of...
